POSITION SUMMARY
Note: This is a full-time position directly reporting to the Director of Development; pay rate as agreed, based on experience, expertise, and applicable education.
The primary responsibility of the Donor Relations Officer is to generate funds through personal contact, fundraising events, and Sunday outreaches, thus enabling Teen Challenge Canada to deliver its core program and fulfill its mission to help women and men overcome substance addictions to lead full and productive lives. The Donor Relations Officer works in collaboration with the National Office, regional development team, Centre Directors, and volunteers to plan and execute all local development initiatives, in adherence with Teen Challenge Canada’s established best practices. Responsibilities include: establishing and nurturing successful personal donor relationships, coordinating and leading Sunday morning outreaches and events (including Golf Classics, Galas, etc.), and coaching, leading, mentoring and mobilizing volunteers, clients and committee members, including local Ambassador Teams, to achieve annual fundraising goals and strategies.

Teen Challenge Canada Inc. operates 12-month in-residence alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation programs, for adults 18+ years, with centres located in Alberta, Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan and Ontario. We offer help and hope to those struggling with alcoholism and/or addiction to other drugs through a proven faith-based program. Those struggling with addiction, their family and friends, begin their restoration at Teen Challenge.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all local fundraising activities in collaboration with committees, local development team and administrative staff, Centre Directors, National Call Centre, Marketing and Communications, volunteers and students to meet or exceed approved fundraising budgets
- Lead the local Teen Challenge Canada Major Donor Program including identifying and recruiting new major donors, maintaining major donor profiles, pursuing regular face-to-face meetings, and managing phone and email communications
- Coordinate and lead local fundraising events including, but not limited to: Galas, Golf Classics, Freedom Runs and Freedom Rides
- Oversee Sunday outreach engagement and lead local church outreaches
- Effectively communicate and promote Teen Challenge Canada’s development initiatives to prospective donors, volunteers, committees and staff
- Help set and achieve annual budgets for various fundraising initiatives
- Input donor information and update/maintain data in Teen Challenge databases
- Act as a liaison for local donors and churches to Teen Challenge Canada
- Ensure sensitive/confidential information is handled in strict accordance with Teen Challenge Canada’s policies and procedures
